The annual report for ECC-Iceland 2015 has been issued, but ECC-Iceland assists consumers having disputes with traders from other countries within the EEA. This means that consumers can seek assistance when having problems regarding on-line purchases or transactions made while on holiday in another EEA-country.
The report is an informative summary of the operations of ECC-Iceland, including several success stories of cases handled by ECC-Iceland. During 2015 ECC-Iceland received 58 information requests, 54 simple complaints and 63 normal complaints, where mediation was necessary. So in total ECC-Iceland received 175 contacts from consumers, which is a 65% increase compared to 2014. Most of the complaints concerned transport and car rental.
